PRECAUTIONS FOR USE

Exposure Limits:

As Ammonia (NH3)

Exposure standard 25ppm 18mg/m (NOHSC 1990)

Exposure standard is the time weighed average concentration of the work atmosphere over a normal 8 hour work day and a 40 hour

work week. Nearly all workers may be repeatedly exposed to this level, day after day, without adverse effects.

These exposure limits are issued as guidelines for good practice. All atmospheric contamination should be kept to as low a level as

is practically possible.

These exposure limits should not be used as fine lines between safe and dangerous concentrations.

Engineering Controls:

Use in a well ventilated area only.

Maintain atmospheric concentration below recommended exposure level.

Local exhaust ventilation system may be required.

Personal Protection:

Avoid skin and eye contact. Avoid breathing vapour.

The following personal protective equipment is recommended: chemical goggles or face shield, PVC or rubber gloves.

Always work in a well ventilated area.

Always wash hands before smoking, eating, drinking or using the toilet.

Flammability:

Non combustible. Non flammable.

SAFETY HANDLING INFORMATION

Storage & Transport:

This product is categorised as Class 8 Corrosive in Australian Code for the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail.

Keep containers securely sealed and protected against physical damage.

Do not use aluminum or galvanised containers. Store in well ventilated area.

Spills and Disposal:

Slippery when spilt. Avoid accidents, clean up immediately.

Avoid breathing vapours and contact with skin or eyes. If spillage occurs in confined area, ensure adequate ventilation.

Isolate leaking containers and stop leek if safe to do so. Neutralise spill with dilute hydrochloric acid.

Flush to sewer as greatly diluted solution.

Fire/Explosion Hazard:

Non combustible. In case of fire in the surroundings, use the appropriate extinguishing method for the area.
