HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION

Acute Effects:

Swallowed:

Moderately toxic.

May cause irritation to mouth, throat and stomach, headache, salivation, nausea and vomiting.

May cause pulmonary oedema.

Eyes:

Harmful to the eye.

May cause conjunctivitis, corneal burns and ulceration.

High concentration of vapours will cause irritation.

Skin:

Contact, particularly if prolonged with the skin may cause irritation.

Contact with skin can result in little or no immediate pain, thus contamination of gloves or boots may result

in much pain particularly in areas under nails.

Inhaled:

Inhalation of high concentrations of vapour are very irritating to eyes, nose and throat and upper respiratory tract.

May cause damage to mucous membranes.

Inhalation of low concentrations may produce conditioning in some cases and sensitization in others!.

Chronic Effects:

Because of irritating nature of vapours which cause rapid evacuation of contaminated areas, there is little hazard of chronic

exposure and no known effects.

FIRST AID:

Swallowed:

DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Give plenty of water to drink.

Seek immediate medical attention.

Eyes:

Flood with water for at least 15 minutes.

Eyelids to be held open.

Seek medical attention.

Skin:

Wash with plenty of water immediately.

If irritation persists, seek medical attention.

Inhaled:

Move patient to fresh air.

Avoid becoming a casualty.

Seek medical advice if effects persist.

Advice to Doctor:

Treat symptomatically.
