Storage & Transport:
Keep containers securely sealed and protected against physical damage.
Store away in cool place.
Store away from acids.
This product is hazardous and is considered as a Dangerous Good in the Australian Code for the Transport of
Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail.
Spills and Disposal:
The following protective equipment should be worn; safety glasses, goggles , faceshield, rubber gloves, overalls and gumboots.
Isolate leaking containers and stop leak if safe to do so.
Mop up and wash to drain with copious volumes of water.
Slippery when spilt. Avoid accidents, clean up immediately.
Reactivity Data:
The solution in water is a strong base. It reacts violently with acid and is corrosive to the skin and some metals.
Releases toxic chlorine gas in contact with acids.
Fire/Explosion Hazard:
Non combustible.
The product is strongly alkaline and hence may react with metals to produce hydrogen, a flammable gas.
In event of a fire the product may release toxic chlorine gas.
For fire in the surroundings, use the appropriate extinguishing method for the area.
