SECTION 4

FIRST AID MEASURES

Description of necessary first aid measures

Inhalation:

Keep victim calm and remove to fresh air if safe to do so. Remove

contaminated clothing. Transport to nearest medical facility for additional

treatment.

Skin Contact:

If skin contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and immediately flush

skin thoroughly with large amounts of water and follow by washing with soap if

available. Transport to nearest medical facility for additional treatment.

Eye Contact:

If in eyes, hold eyes open, flood with large amounts of water for at least 15

minutes. Transport to nearest medical facility for additional treatment.

Ingestion:

If swallowed, do NOT induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water. Obtain

medical treatment immediately. If vomiting occurs spontaneously, keep head

below hips to prevent aspiration.

Symptoms caused by exposure

Inhalation:

Inhalation of vapours can result in headaches, dizziness, and possible

nausea. Inhalation of higher concentrations can produce central nervous

system depression, unconsciousness, irregular heart beat and may prove

suddenly fatal.

Skin:

May include redness and swelling. Repeated exposure may cause severe

ulceration.

Eye:

May include inflammation and burning sensation. Repeated or prolonged

exposure may cause conjunctivitis.

Ingestion:

May result in

nausea, vomiting and central nervous system depression.

Medical attention and special treatment

Treat symptomatically.

SECTION 5

FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

Suitable extinguishing equipment

Alcohol stable foam, water spray or fog, dry chemical powder.

Specific hazards arising from the chemical

Non-combustible material. Decomposes on heating emitting toxic fumes, including hydrogen chloride,

phosgene and oxides of carbon.

Special protective equipment and precautions for fire fighters

Wear full protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus. Hazchem code 2X.

SECTION 6

ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Avoid contact with spilled or released material. Shut off leaks, if possible without personal risks. Isolate

hazard area and deny entry to unnecessary or unprotected personnel. Attempt to disperse the vapour or to

direct its flow to a safe location for example by using fog sprays. Ventilate contaminated area thoroughly.

Environmental precautions

Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination. Prevent from spreading and entering

waterway using sand, earth or other appropriate barriers. If contamination of sewers or waterways has

occurred advise local emergency services.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up

For spills, transfer by mechanical means to a labelled, sealable container for product recovery or safe

disposal. Allow any residues to evaporate or use an appropriate absorbent material and dispose of safely.
