10. STABILITY & REACTIVITY

Hazardous Reactions

:

Product is stable under normal conditions of use, storage

and temperature. Do not store in metal containers.

Conditions to avoid:

Avoid excessive heat, high temperature and sources of ignition.

Incompatible materials:

Incompatible with oxidizing agents, acids, bases, alkalis,

metals, salts of oxyhalogenic acids and ammonia.

Polymerization:

Product will not undergo polymerization.

11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION

No data is available for this product. Data for oxalic acid:

Oral LD50 (male rat) 475mg/kg

Skin LD50 (rabbit) 2000mg/kg

Exposure to oxalic acid can result in systemic effects including kidney damage, muscle twitching,

cramps and central nervous system complications.

Health Effects – Acute

Swallowed

Harmful if swallowed. May cause irritation to mucous membranes in the mouth, pharynx,

oesophagus and gastrointestinal tracts. May result in rapid absorption. Absorption may cause

agitation, spasms, nausea, vomiting, cardiovascular failure and collapse through disturbed

electrolyte balance.

Eyes

A severe eye irritant. Contact with eye can cause corneal burns and result in permanent injury.

Prolonged contact with oxalic acid solution s can produce irreversible eye damage.

Skin

Harmful in contact with skin. Contact with skin can result in severe skin irritation and tissue

damage. Danger of absorption through skin.

Inhaled

Inhalation may causes irritation to the mucus membranes, coughing and dyspnoea.
