Acute Effects:
Swallowed:
Cause severe burns to the mouth, throat and stomach. Will cause severe damage to the mucous membranes.
Ingestion can result in nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, and/or convulsions.
Can kill if swallowed.
May lead to CNS depression.
Eyes:
A severe eye irritant.
Corrosive to eyes: Causes sever burns.
Permanent eye damage, including loss of sight, may occur.
Skin
Corrosive to skin - C ause skin burns.
Inhaled:
Causes severe burns! Causes difficulty in breathing, low blood pressure, sleepiness, cyanoderma, pulmonary congestion, coughing,,
pain, diseases of the nasal cavity diaphragm and burns to the mucous membranes.
FIRST AID:
Swallowed:
Rinse mouth thoroughly with water immediately. Give water to drink. DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING.
If vomiting occurs, give further water to achieve effective dilution.
Seek immediate medical assistance.
Poison Information Centres in each State capital city can provide additional assistance for scheduled poisons.

Eyelids to be held open.
Flush with 1% Boric acid solution.
